The Ossolineum

Ossolineum The Ossolinski National Institute, also called Ossolineum, is one of the largest Polish libraries, consisting priceless old printings and manuscripts (also the manuscript "Pan Tadeusz" written by Adam Mickiewicz ), cartographical and numismatic collections. It is situated in a beautiful baroque building, which recently regained it's magnificence and enriched itself with a regular, geometrical garden with XVIII century sculptures of four times of the year. It was formerly a monastic building. He belonged to the crusaders with the Red Star, called the Hospitallers, brought to Wroclaw in XIII century by princess Ann, the widow after Henry II.
